 Claim Compensation

If you have redeemed a mortgage in the last few
years, either by paying it off completely,
remortgaging to another lender, or moving house,
you may well have been overcharged by your
previous lender, and you will be entitled to compensation.

The Financial Services Authority, have told
lenders that if they increased their "Mortgage Exit
Fees" between the time the mortgage was
taken out and subsequently paid off, they cannot
pass the higher costs on to borrowers.

How do you claim these charges back?

1. Telephone the Customer Services Department
of your previous lender, the number will be on
their website
2. Don't worry if you don't have your previous
Mortgage Account Number, the lender will be
able to find this from your address.
3. Tell them that you think you may have been
overcharged on your "Mortgage Exit Fee" when
you paid off your mortgage- they will do the rest
for you.
